Emma MacLean
Emma MacLean is a textile artist living and working in Greater Boston, Massachusetts. Emma's quilts combine quilting cottons with second hand materials such as old clothes or bed sheets and often feature handwork through embroidery and hand quilting. She is interested in how textiles can make the invisible visible. Much of her work focuses around pain, time and learning to be soft. Her recent solo show “It Only Hurts” contains a quilted piece for each word in the McGill Pain Questionnaire - 78 pain words in total.
